The Brighton Miracle

In 2015 We Bop Choir were asked to sing the national anthems of the teams playing the Rugby World Cup at Brighton Amex stadium. It was an incredibly exciting experience. We got to stand on the pitch and sing the Japanese and South African national anthems as they waited to start what was to be a historic match.  Japan, the team with the worst record in rugby World Cup history, beat South Africa, the reigning two-time champions.  A film has been made about it called ‘The Brighton Miracle’, and it’s available on Amazon Prime. Watch the trailer and you can see us on the pitch! The two countries will now meet again in the quarter finals of the current Rugby World Cup in Japan on Sunday 20th October. I think the choir will be watching!
