We Bop Choir leaders\, Rachel Myer and Debby Tyndall will teach you how to \n\nImprove your breathing and posture\nRelease your natural voice\nExpand your vocal range\nGet in touch with your vocal instrument\nSing with more power but less effort\nAvoid vocal strain and fatigue\n\nIn this 3-hour workshop \nDebby will start the session off with floor and seated exercises to release tension and balance your body ready for vocalising. The Body & Breath to Voice Connection will help you release your natural voice and sing with ease and expression. Using simple melodies and songs we will explore challenges and open up the whole potential of your natural voice. All challenges will be treated respectfully and in a spirit of adventure. Please wear soft clothing and be able to take your shoes off. If you have a yoga mat\, please bring it with you. \nWe will have a short break for tea (herbal or caffeinated) and a biscuit (provided). \nRachel will continue the workshop using fun\, targeted exercises to help you to feel more in control of your voice. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting 18 week term culminating in a show at the Spiegeltent on Sunday 19th May. We sing a mixture of a cappella and accompanied songs in 3 or 4-parts by artists such as Madonna\, Elton John\, Angie Stone\, Björk\, Aretha Franklin\, Patti Smith\, Abba\, Gloria Gaynor\, Etta James Adele\, Taylor Swift & more… We will be joined by a professional band (guitar\, double bass & cajón) for our show “Love Is In The Air”. \nWe are particularly looking for more Sopranos to join our highest part and we have space in our lowest Alto part. All parts must balance\, so we will give priority to these singers. Once these parts are filled\, we can expand our other mid range parts. Commitment to the gig is essential on this occasion . \nSongs are taught by ear and mp3s of all the parts are available for you to listen to & practice to on our website. \nWe meet on Wednesdays 19:30 to 21:30 at One Church\, Florence Road\, BN1 6DL. DESCRIPTION:We are very happy to announce that we will be taking part in the London Sangerstevne International Choir Festival 2019 at St Sepulchre-Without-Newgate\, Holborn Viaduct\, London\, EC1A 2DQ. \nNow in its sixteenth year\, this non-competitive choir festival draws choirs from around the country and overseas. It provides a relaxed and supportive environment for choirs to perform a short set to each other and to the general public. There is a lovely mix of pop\, soul\, folk\, classical\, sacred\, adult and children’s choirs. In keeping with the Sangerstevne tradition\, a couple of Festival pieces are sung at the end of each main concert by all the singers who have performed. \nThis will be our 4th appearance at the festival\, and we always look forward to taking part and watching all the other choirs. Expect to hear songs like ‘River’ by Joni Mitchell\, ‘Hallelujah’ by Leonard Cohen\, ‘Santa Baby’ by Eartha Kitt\, ‘Carol Of The Bells’ by Mykola Leontovych and more in the beautiful surroundings of the Altar Area at the newly refurbished St Augustine’s Centre. \nAt the end of the concert you will be invited to join the choir in singing some traditional carols. \nProceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Sussex Nightstop\, a charity providing a safety net for young people at risk of homelessness. DESCRIPTION:If you are doing your Christmas shopping in Churchill Square on Saturday 8th December\, then make sure you come to the first floor outside Debenhams at 3pm to see us sing and drop some money in the collection buckets. We will be singing our Christmas songs for a charity collection by Chestnut Tree House Hospice: the children’s hospice for Sussex\, which cares for 300 children & young adults every year with progressive\, life shortening conditions.
